Waymaker
Some of you may be familiar with a song that has come out this past year called Waymaker by Leeland. For me it became a quick favorite, and one that has gained in popularity. I think the lyrics are so powerful and such an incredible reminder. If you have already heard the song, I encourage you to listen to it again, but really focus on the lyrics. If you haven’t heard it, then what are you waiting for?! Click on the link and listen because it is so beautiful and so relevant to what we are facing today. The song is a reminder that God is HERE and working in our MIDST. I know I have talked about this on other posts, but it is a reminder that we need every single day. God is not just some immortal being—he is a personal, loving, merciful God. He is a WAYMAKER. He is a MIRACLE WORKER. He is the LIGHT in the DARKNESS. We are in a time that is crazy and full of people who are hurting and trying to figure out life, and you may be one of them. But in a time that feels hopeless, challenge yourself every. single. day. to wake up and believe that He is working miracles across our world. He is paving the way for us in ways that we can’t even imagine. The dark that we feel trapped in right now because of things being cancelled, sickness, job loss, loneliness,—let Him bring LIGHT to that area. Now I know this is so much easier to say, than to believe and live out. Because let’s face it, when we are in a dark place it can be a struggle each day to see the good and the moments of joy. It is hard to believe that there is a God working because it can feel the opposite at times. However, we have to actively choose to have faith no matter what is going on. This song has been one that I have just put on repeat because of it’s reminder and how relevant the lyrics can feel to what we experience in life.
Even when I don't see it, You're working
Even when I don't feel it, You're working
You never stop, You never stop working
You never stop, You never stop working
These words are such a sweet reminder of even when we don’t feel God moving, speaking, working, we choose to have faith. That doesn’t mean that we have faith that hardships won’t come our way and that we won’t have struggles in life. It means that we have faith that no matter what happens and no matter what is going on, God will allow good and purpose to come out of each moment. God will never leave and he will never stop working in our lives. He is our creator among so many things, and He will be the reason we come out victorious no matter the trials we face. That is the faith that we hold onto, which allows us to be strong and confident in our God, and to have full faith in the promises He has given us. Here are a few verses for you to read and meditate over. Allow them to empower you as you go throughout this season life and every season after, that God is the one setting your path and will forever be faithful.
“Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For the Lord your God is the one who will go with you; he will not leave you or abandon you” Deuteronomy 31:6
“But for the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one” 2 Thessalonians 3:4
“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord”
Romans 8:37-39
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful” Hebrews 10:23
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:19
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” Hebrews 11:1

Reflection: Take time to think back on different trials that you have faced in your life. Maybe it was a dark season for you, one of loss, hardship, or a moment of struggle. How did that time in your life end up being resolved, or what came from it? Think of every possible good thing that prospered from that season. Think about everything you learned in that season. Now I don’t know what those seasons looked like for you, and you might still have scars and healing to go through. But I am sure that there is good that came out of it. Focus on that because, the only reason good was able to grow from a place that seemed impossible for something of that nature to ever flourish, was through God being faithful. Remind yourself of every time God has remained alongside you, where he has delivered you from a hard place, where he brought to life a plan that you never could have imagined for yourself. If he did it once, he will do it again.
