Patient in Affliction

I mentioned in my last blog post how God taught me about what joy really is and how it is something that is always present. In the midst of afflictions and moments of what feels like suffering, you can have the joy to endure those times. I have also talked on here about how God has a calling for every single one of us. This can be in reference to a career or what God has you do in life, but I also think this can look like many different callings in different seasons. God can also call you to do something that you might not be keen on doing. Maybe He calls you to move somewhere new, to decline a promotion, or to end a relationship. At the moment you may not understand why and not want to, which can feel like you are in the middle of affliction. Romans 5:3-5 talks about what these moments of affliction produce in us though.

“And not only that, but we also boast in our afflictions, because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope. This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:3-5
