Emma
For our first-person sharing on the blog, I have asked one of my good friends from college, Emma! She is someone with so much wisdom and she has a heart that is on fire for Jesus. You will be hearing more from her as time goes on, but to kick us off I have asked her to answer the following question and to share some of her favorite verses right now.
What does a life where you are fully remaining in Jesus look like?
Fully surrendering to Him. In a myriad of ways, God has impressed this theme upon my heart. That in every situation and every area of my life, I should surrender to Him. Yet God does not enforce this surrender, but kindly guides us to surrender because it is this life He has for His children. A life of pure joy and full trust without fear. When I fully surrender, I not only obey His calling for my life but experience the fullness of life. For laying up treasure in heaven allows me to flourish, and in doing so I recognize that the glory of the world is fleeting - that nothing is worth holding onto in this life.
“Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you” (Psalm 37:5)
“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it” (Matthew 16:24-25)
